VICHY OFFICIALS
AND FRENCH ARMY OFFICERS MANY ARRESTED AT ORDERS OF LAVAL. ACCUSED OF CHANGING ATTITUDE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, August 22. Laval has ordered the arrest of numerous Vichy Government officials in Paris, including a number of Foreign Ministry officials, and also several Army officers, says the “Daily Telegraph’s” Madrid correspondent. Those arrested allegedly changed their political attitude in view of the radical change in the military situation. They are charged with “maintaining a dangerous contact with Powers regarded as France’s enemies.’” ,
