SIR SAMUEL HOARE
REPORTING TO GOVERNMENT IN LONDON. MEETING WITH GENERAL FRANCO. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10 a.m.) RUGBY, August 22. A British news agency message from Madrid says that, on his return after his meeting yesterday with General Franco and the Foreign Minister. Count Jordana, Sir Samuel Hoare (British Ambassador) said that as he was leaving shortly for London to confer with his Government, he naturally wanted to see the head of the Spanish State before leaving. Every courtesy had been extended to him during his journey.
