OBITUARY

MR G. R. CROLL. The death occurred at Ncav Plymouth last night of a well knoAvn and highly respected former resident of Masterton in the person of Mr George R. Croll at the age of 78 years. The late Mr Croll, who Avas very popular with a Avide circle of friends, Avas for many years engineer in the employ of Thos. Borthwick and Sons, A’asia Ltd., and retired from their service some years ago. He recently left Masterton to reside at New Plymouth. He took a keen interest in cricket and football, and had been for some years a vice-president of the Red Star Football Club and the Red Star Cricket Club. He was a well known cricketer in Australia and travelled round Ncav Zealand and Australia Avith various All Black football teams. He leaves a widow but no family, and his death will be deeply regretted by his friends.
