WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING AT PAHAUTEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting yesterday of the Pahaulea Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was presided over by Mrs Ross. Arrangements were made to senci Christmas parcels to local service men serving overseas. Parcels are also to be sent to Pilot Sergeant Keith Smith who formerly resided in the district. The competitions resulted as follows:—Best bloom: Mrs C. Bargh, 1; Mrs Beattie, 2. Eggless chocolate cake: Miss Frew, 1. The hostesses were Mesdames Bargh and Hector. Junior Red Cross Branch. A meeting was held to discuss matters connected with the 21st birthday of the Junior Red Cross branch when it was decided to hold a party at Martinborough owing to the Featherston Town Hall being engaged on the date fixed for the gathering. At a meeting of the Red Cross Sewing Circle the next-of-kin of prisoners of war attended by invitation to hear an address given by Miss Elliot, secretary of the Masterton Red Cross Centre. Personal. Mr and Mrs G. Beckett and Miss Sue Piper left today for Auckland where they have taken a house at Mission Bay for the school holidays. COSY THEATRE “MAIL TRAIN.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by the sensational drama, “Mail Train,” featuring Gordon Harker and Alastair Sim. The other picture, “The MystciY of Marie Roget,” is founded on Edgar Allen Poe's famous story, and features .Maria Montez and Patrie Knowles.
