GENERAL ELECTION
DUNEDIN WEST SEAT. NATIONAL PARTY CANDIDATE. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 19. The selection was announced tonight of Brigadier A. S. Falconer, D. 5.0., tc contest the Dunedin West seat in the interests of the National Party. His Labour opponent will be Lieutenant Commander P. G. Connolly, D.S.C. DEMOCRATIC LABOUR PARTY. WAIRARAPA CANDIDATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association-.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr Robert E. Crawford, aged 3tL who Avas born in the Wairarapa, and is married, with one child, is announced as the Democratic Labour candidate for the Wairarapa electorate. He was president for several years of the Featherston branch of the Labour Party, a member of the Wairarapa L.R.C. and delegate to the Easter conference. He formed the Featherston branch of the Democratic Labour Party three years ago and is now its president. He represented Manawatu and ManaAvhenua at Rugby football for several years. At present he is the president of the Featherston branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union and a member of the provincial executive.
