KENNEL CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE

NEW CUP FOR COMPETITION A meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Kennel Club was held in Masterton last night. Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas was in the chair. A hearty welcome was extended to Mr C. Pedersen, who has returned to the club after an absence of several years, and to Mr H. Stimpson, a new member.

A vote of thanks was passed to Mr J. M. James and Mrs H. M. Major for donations.

The secretary read a letter received from Mrs Barton Smith, of Hastings, enclosing a donation to replace the cup for the best black Cocker which she won at the annual show. The new cup will be known as the “Karamu Cup.” A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Barton Smith.

It was decided to hold a ribbon parade on September 11. The judges will be Messrs L. M. Archer (greyhounds), G. F. Birkett (sporting dogs) and S. D. Geary (all other breeds). Congratulations were extended to Mr H. Stimpson on his recent successes at the Christchurch Show with his dog, Stamford Stalwart.
