CONFERENCE CONCLUDED.
OFFICERS FOR COMING YEAR

The annual conference of the New Zealand Railway Officers' Institute concluded yesterday. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr M. J. Forde, Wellington; vice-presidents. Messrs J. W. Shepherd, Auckland, and J. S. Roscoe, Christchurch; general treasurer, Mr G. R. Wilson, Wellington; executive committee (all Wellington), Messrs Cunningham, McKinley, Lynch, Gilmore (Traffic Branch), Renal (Stores Branch), McCleary (Maintenance Branch), Martin (Locomotive Branch), Tweren (Workshops); auditors, Messrs G. M. Howatson and J. H. Wilson. Mr Forde was reappointed editor of the “Advocate.”
The restoration of the pre-war system of retirements occupied a great deal of attention, and, following interviews with Messrs Fraser and Nash, it was expected that something in the direction desired would be done.
