TRUST LANDS TRUST
MEETING IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT.
PLAN TO RECONSTRUCT OLD TECHNICAL BUILDING.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was held in Masterton last night. The chairman, Mr H. P. Hugo, presided, and there were also present: Messrs Macfarlane Laing. A. O. Jones, C. E .Grey, H. H. Daniell, J. A. Russell and R. Page. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs E. G. Eton and R. Krahagen. The building and leasing committee reported that it had conferred with the architect regarding the old Technical School building, and he had been instructed to prepare plans which would reduce the building to a single storey one with attic storage at the top. Consideration of the plans was taken in committee.
Matters regarding negotiations in respect to the Opera House were also taken in committee.
The State Fire Office wrote asking for a renewal of its lease for a further year.
It was decided to point out that the Trust would only consider a five-year lease.
