GENERAL ELECTION
WALLACE SEAT. LABOUR CANDIDATE SELECTED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, August 2. The Wallace Labour Representation Committee has decided to contest the seat and has selected Mr John Lynch, farmer of Nightcaps, as the official candidate against Mr Adam Hamilton. Mr Lynch contested the same seat in 1937. He has been prominent in Farmers' Union affairs for a number of years, and at the Easter conference of .the Labour Party was appointed as-a representative of the Party in Southland.
