GREYTOWN
PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE SOLDIERS TO BE HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Citizens’ Patriotic Committee met in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening. Mr A. W. Horton presided and there was a good attendance of members. It was decided to hold a social gathering and dance in the Town Hall on August 2 in honour of the members who have returned from service overseas. Mrs Alex. Johnson was appointed to attend to the supper arrangements and Mrs J. F. Thompson the musical programme, etc. Messrs R. O'Neale and S. Shedden were appointed M’s.C. and are to make arrangements for the decorating of the hall. After a discussion and a vote had been taken it was decided to accept the Government's offer to share in the cost. Invitations to be present are to be sent to the member for the district, Mr Ben Roberts, the county chairman and the riding representative. A vote of thanks was accorded Messrs J. Coleman and R. O'Neale who had assisted the ladies' committee to pack soldiers' parcels at Masterton.
