GREYTOWN

R.S.A. ACTIVITIES MR CARTER ELECTED LIFE MEMBER. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Returned Services Association held a meeting in the Fire Brigade Hall when Messrs H. Brass (president) and A. Prentice, of Masterton, ' addressed the forty members who were present on the activities of the association. The rehabilitation scheme for members of the Secon N.Z.E.F. was fully discussed. Messrs Brass and Prentice were accorded a hearty vote of thanks, and confidence was expressed in the great work the association was doing. Corporal Wright and Gunner Dunn who are on leave from the Middle East, were present, and were given a cordial welcome by Miss L. Higginson. The secretary, Mr A. Nisbet, read a letter from the executive in which it was stated that Mr H. G. Carter had been elected a life member of the Wairarapa Centre. Musical honours were accorded Mr Carter. Corporal Wright gave an interesting description of the operation of tre New Zealand railway unit in the Middle East. The Greytown Returned Services Association extend a hearty invitation to the Second N.Z.E.F. members now on leave to attend its annual dance which will take place tonight in the Town Hall and at which the music will be supplied by Udy s Orchestra.

Mr H. C. Trotman has received advice that his son, Ken. has gained his “wings” in the Air Force overseas. Miss Joyce Horton, of . Wellington, was a visitor to Greytown for the weekend. Among a party of sick, wounded and other personnel of the Second N.Z.E.F., who returned to New Zealand recently, was Sister Rhodes, of Greytown. TOWN HALL “THE REAL GLORY.” “The Real Glory,” a thrilling drama of love and courage, will be shown tomorrow night with Gary Cooper. David Niven, Andrea Leeds and Reginald Owen in the leading roles.
