WEEKEND GOLF GUM GROVE COMPETITION. (“Times-Age" Special.) The following is the result of the third stableford competition held on the Gum Grove links at the weekend: —G. O’Neale, 1; H. R. Bloxam, 2; J. McCallum, 3. Personal. At the monthly meeting of the League of Mothers, the president, Mrs Arch. Clark, asked the members to toast the health of Sister Molly Cundy, coupled with the names of her parents, Mr’ and Mrs H. Cundy. as Sister Cundy’s wedding had taken place that day in New Caledonia. The toast was enthusiastically honoured and Mrs Cundy suitably replied. Sale of Farms. Several farms have recently changed hands in this district. It is reported that Mr George Noble, Pahiatua, has purchased the dairy farm owned by Mr Herbert Hodder. A Masterton syndicate has bought the Burt Bros.’ estate in South Featherston. Two other dairy farms have also changed Service Men Welcomed. The local members of the N.Z.E.F. which have recently returned to the Dominion were entertained on Saturday night' at a dinner and later at a complimentary dance at the Town Hall which was filled. The guests of the evening received a warm reception as they marched on to the stage, where Mr J. W. Card welcomed them. Sergeant P. Pearce returned thanks on behalf of his comrades. Ashton's Orchestra supplied the dance music. Extras were played by Miss C. Saba. Mr V. Ashton was M.C. Supper was served by the Junior Patriotic Dance Committee. Excellent arrangements had been made for the gatherings. COSY THEATRE ‘"THE REAL GLORY." On Wednesday night there will be shown one of the most stirring dramas ever brought to the screen, “The Real Glory,” featuring Gary Cooper, David Niven, Andrea Leeds, and Reginald Owen.
