Mrs T. Fenton, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs S. M. Baird, Coradine Street, Masterton. Mrs Ronald Drummond, Dunedin, is staying with Mrs R. C. Drummond, Lansdowne. The death of Mr James Garcia, aged 65, for 34 years a member of the literary staff of the “Taranaki Daily News,” occurred at New Plymouth on Saturday, states a Press Association message. Mr Garcia was widely known in boxing circles as president of the Taranaki Boxing Association. He was also a member of the management committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union, vice-president of the Taranaki Agricultural Society, a member of the Taranaki Education Board, and president of the North Island School Committees' Association.
