EVENTS AT AKURA PLUMPTON WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. AUCKLAND OWNERS’ SUCCESSES. The Wairarapa Coursing Club held a most successful meeting yesterday at the Akura Plumpton, when there was a large attendance of the public. The Maiden Stake was run in divisions the first division being won by Mr C. Taylor’s (Auckland) Chinas Hope, and the second division was won by another Auckland-owned dog, Mr T. Richards s Soviet Union. Mr W. James (Masterton) trained both dogs. The Maiden Plate resulted:— First Division—First round: Silver’s Delight (L. Fulton, Masterton) beat Flying Midget (Hood and Lusty, Masterton), 2/0; Cynical Kid (S. Davis, Masterton) beat Awatahi (C. E. Grey, Masterton), 5/0; Lord Wilga (Mrs W. Williams, Masterton) beat Better Days (A. La Roche, Wellington), 2/11; China’s Hope (C. Taylor, Auckland) beat Border Maid (C. Lusty), 51/2; Kitty Hawk (R. A. Tudor, Masterton) beat Roy Rufus, 31/0; Cyclone (James and Grey, Masterton) beat Royal Silver (Mrs L. H. Jones, Masterton), 5/0. Second round: Cynical Kid beat Silver’s Delight, 2/0; China’s Hope beat Lord Wilga 21/1; Cyclone beat Kitty Hawk, 2/0. Semi-final: China’s Hope beat Cynical Kid, 41/0. Final: China’s Hope beat Cyclone, 11/0. Second Division. —First round: Gold rail (L. Gray, Masterton) beat Orui Lady (A. Spicer, Masterton), 3/0; Spitfire Joe (Miss P. Hanley, Masterton) beat Gay Crest (S. Davis), 21/0; Phantom Gold (Cooke and McGrath, Wellington) beat Lady Grail (P. Ratcliffe, Wellington), 1170; R.A.F. (A. La Roche) beat Ngamatapouri (A. Hare, Masterton), 2/0; Soviet Union (T. Richards, Auckland) beat Desiree’s Pride (C. Taylor, Auckland), 6/11; Lucky Cinders (Miss J. Hanley, Masterton), a bye.
