INTENSIFIED BV NAZIS SOVIET TROOPS RESISTING STOUTLY. ONE LOST POSITION RETAKEN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, July 7. A Moscow message reports that the Germans have redoubled the weight and ferocity of their attacks in the whole Byelgorod-Kufsk-Orel area, and are trying to widen their wedges. They have taken two more places near Byelgorod, but the Russians recovered one by a coun-ter-attack. In the Orel-Kursk direction, after the first day’s failure, the enemy switched in a new direction, where, however, the opposition.proved even stiffer.
