CAMPAIGN IN MASTERTON TOTAL £140,775. BONDS AND WAR SAVINGS ADDITIONAL. There were 20 subscribers for Liberty Loan stock in Masterton on Saturday, for an amount of £5lOO, making the total to date £140,775. In addition, bonds for £348-were sold and deposits made in war savings accounts amounted to £640. The grand total to date for Liberty Loan stock, bonds and war savings contributed in Masterton is £151.258. Among recent investments in the Liberty Loan is £lOOO from the Vivian Riddiford Estate.
The numbers of subscribers given for Masterton in respect to Liberty Loan investments relate only to those who have taken up stock. A large number have invested in bonds or are contributing to war savings accounts.
FIRST WEEK’S CAMPAIGN OVER £12,000,000 RECEIVED. NEED FOR MORE SUBSCRIBERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Third Liberty Loan after the first week’s campaigning’ has reached a New Zealand total of £12,125,000, from 19,461 subscribers. Though more than a third of the £35,000,000 target has been subscribed, there is still a considerable gap between the number of subscribers and the 200,000 aimed at. The Wellington district total, which includes the city and as far as Otaki in the Manawatu and Pahiatua in the Wairarapa, was £1,586,960 on Friday night, the day’s figure being £120,890. The New Zealand total includes approximately £5,000,000 in advance subscriptions.
