RECAPPING & RETREADING. FOR PETROL LICENCE HOLDERS. The Reid Rubber Co., Ltd., Auckland, are now manufacturing B grade rubber from reclaimed rubber. This rubber is being released for the retreading and capping of tires of petrol licence holders who are not entitled to A grade rubber. The proprietor of the Reliance Tire and Rubber Company, Mr B. V. Bodie, when giving his opinion of the new development stated that although the first consignment was rather disappointing it was a different story, today. The factory, which is working at high pressure has been alloted a certain quota of B grade rubber per month for this district and it remains to be seen if this quota will be sufficient. Mr Bodie recommends petrol licence holders to have their tires capped just before the tread disappears as a tire can be capped many times.
