EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE

MASTERTON BRANCH. INTERESTING REPORT ON CONFERENCE. At a meeting of the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute held in Masterton, the president, Mr E. G. Coddington, presided over a good attendance of members. The main business of the meeting was to receive a report of the proceedings at the N.Z.E.I. annual conference in Christchurch, at which Mr J. P. Farrell represented the local branch. The report showed that the conference had given consideration to many matters of importance, in particular the rehabilitation of soldier teachers, the welfare of pupils, and grading. Mr Farrell gave some personal impressions and items of general interest from the programme of the conference, and at the conclusion of his report he was accorded a vote of thanks for his much appreciated report.
