The “Frankfurter Zeitung,” in its issue of March 3, reported that at a meeting of the French Revolutionary Front a young man shouted, amid great applause: “We, the real youth of France, are for Stalingrad!” The Germans apparently took it that the French youth wanted to go to fight to regain Stalingrad for- the Germans, but the real intent was obvious to those present, who greeted the words with loud demonstrations of approval.
