SATISFACTORY AVERAGE

MADE AT CLEARING SALE. STRONG COMPETITION FOR { DAIRY STOCK. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report as follows on a most successful clearing sale, held on account of Mr D. S. Aitchison, of Manaia Road, yesterday, when they submitted his live „and dead stock at auction:—The herd came forward in good condition, making the satisfactory average of £lO Bs, after strong competition from buyers representing Eketahuna, Carterton and Johnsonville, besides local purchasers, who were supplied with full records of each individual cow, as Mr Aitchison was a great believer in herd testing. The spring heifers averaged £lO, while the weaner heifers made £5 ss. All the implements and sundries sold particularly well. The following were the main prices received :—

Dairy stock: The best cows. £l3, £l5. £l5 10s to £l7; good cows, £9, £lO, £ll 10s to £l2; later calvers, £6 10s, £7 5s to £8 10s; springing heifers, £B, £lO, £lO 10s to £11; weaner heifers, £5 ss. Pigs.—Maiden sows. 614 to 7 gns.; weaner pedigree sows, 5'A gns.; 9 mos, boars, 5 to 9 gns.; slips, 25s to 355. Implements, etc.—Child's pony. £l2: saw bench, £lOM5s; water heater, £11: separator, £8; Vnanure distributor, £9; hay rake. £lO 10s: car trailer. £lO 10s; harrows, £4; hay sweep, £3; drill. £10; discs. £8 10s: cultivator, £l5; lucerne hay. 9s 3d per bale: meadow hay, 7s 3d per bale. Numerous other sundries sold well.
