NO RELAXATION

IN AIR BOMBING OF AXIS ASSURANCE BY MR ATTLEE. GIVEN IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.•LONDON/May 27. The destruction of the Axis war potential by air bombing is a vital and indeed a major feature of our offensive. Neither the enemy nor anyone else will divert us therefrom, nor shall we relax our vigorous prosecution of the war by this or other legitimate means until the complete victory of the United Nations is achieved,” said Mr Attlee (Deputy Prime Minister) in the House of Commons.

Mr Attlee was replying to Mr N. C. Hulbert (Con.), who asked whether an assurance would be given that no representations to Britain from neutral countries suggesting an abandonment of air bombing would be and that it was Britain’s policy relentlessly to pursue all forms of military attack against the enemy.

Replying to a question by another member, Mr Attlee said there was no indiscriminate bombing.
