GREYTOWN
GOLF SEASON OPENED ON SATURDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The. official opening of the Grey town Golf Club took place on Saturday afternoon. • The president, Mr J. Kiernan, extended a hearty welcome to the new members and expressed the hope that the club would continue to cater for the young members during the absence of senior members overseas. A mixed foursome was won by Mr N. S. McLeod and Miss E. Gregor. Personal. The speaker for the Greytown Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union meeting on Wednesday afternoon will be Mrs Higgs, of Featherston. Miss Margaret Eccles, of Wellington, spent the weekend at her home in McMaster Street. Mr and Mrs L. D. Keedwell are the guests of Mrs S. Keedwell, Main Street. Mr Keedwell has been appointed to the staff of the Featherston District High School. Mr and Mrs G. Burns have returned from a holiday visit to Wellington. TOWN HALL TOMORROW NIGHT’S FEATURE. “Remember the Day,” starring Claudette Colbert and John Payne -will be shown at the Town Hall tomorrow night. It depicts a revealing, human story that should prove splendid entertainment.
