CENTRAL SCHOOL
DENTAL CLINIC COMMITTEE. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Central School Dental Clinic Committee was held in the Central School last evening, Dr Gilhooly presiding. The annual report and the financial statement and balance sheet were read and adopted. A report from the clinic nurse showed that 655 children were receiving dental treatment as follows: —East School 55, Central School 358, Solway 66, St Patrick’s 100, St Bride’s 24, under school age 52. Members of the committee stated that they would like to see the number of under school age children largely increased and extended an invitation to parents to bring children of that class to the clinic for an interview regarding treatment. The report also stated that children in standard VI were now receiving treatment. The committee dealt with general clinic business and certain requests made by the nurses were agreed to. The secretary in his report stated, inter alia, that although the Department of Health made an annual grant towards the maintenance of the clinic, the amount was not sufficient to meet expenses. The committee decided to ask the various Parents’ Associations lor a little financial help in this connection.
Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Chairman, Dr Gilhooly; vice-chairman, Mr C. Malmo; secretary and treasurer, Mr P. H. Shaw.
