DECISIVE STEP
- -0 TAKEN BY UNITED STATES BREAK WITH VICHY COMMANDER AT MARTINIQUE. ALL PAST AGREEMENTS REPUDIATED. LONDON, April 30. The United States lias repudiated all past agreements with Admiral Robert, Vichy Commander at Martinique and the American ConsulGeneral has been recalled. Mr Cordell Hull, United States Secretary of State, said that in view of Admiral Robert's attitude, the United States could no longer negotiate with him. It was common knowledge that Martinique was being used more and more for Axis military operations against the United States and the Vichy regime was now an integral part of the Nazi system.
