OBITUARY

MR GEORGB COKER. The death occurred yesterday at Masterton of an old resident in the person of Mr George Coker. He was born 73 years ago in a house at the back of where the old Theatre Royal stood in Queen Street, the latter’ building being subsequently occupied by the firm of Messrs John Graham and Co. The late Mr Coker was in business in Masterton for many years as a painter and cjecorator and he was well known in various parts. of the North Island as the proprietor of skating rinks-. He had lived in retirement for some eighteen years. Mr Coker, who was a member of the local Odd Fellows’ Lodge, married Mrs S. Leahy, who predeceased him several years ago. There is no family. The funeral took place this afternoon.
