HAUNUI CROQUET TROPHY WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a gathering of members of the Haunui Croquet Club Miss Eva Card presented the following trophies which had been won during the past season: A. grade championship (Riddiford Cup), Miss Nix; runner-up, Mrs Symons; B. grade championship (Haunui Cup), Mrs Symons; runner-up, Mrs Wilson; C grade championship, Mrs Wilson, run-ner-up, Mrs Allen; handicap doubles, Miss Nix and Mrs Wilson; handicap singles (sealed), Mrs Symons; singles, Miss Esma Card. , Personal. At a meeting of Presbyterians a presentation was made to Mrs A. E. Edwards, who will leave shortly to take up her residence in Christchurch. Poppy Day. A record amount was reached in connection with the sale of poppies in Featherston. Kahutara Junior Red Cross. The Kahutara Junior Red Cross members entertained the members from Dalefield and Parkvale schools on Saturday. The visiting girls were first taken to Karitane Hospital where the nurses gave interesting talks. The boys were occupied with athletic sports, the prizes for which were donated by Mr D. C. Collins. Afterwards all assembled in the local hall. The president of the local circle welcomed the visitors. Mr Collins was thanked for the part he had taken in catering for the sports. Patriotic Euchre Party. At the patriotic euchre party held in the Red Cross Rooms yesterday afternoon Mrs Muir was the winner. Donations were received from Miss Viles, Mrs A. Buck, and Mrs Cherry. Competitions were won by Miss Nix and Mrs O’Ncale. Personal Items. Miss Monica Taylor, of the local exchange staff, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Word has been received that Pilot Sergeant Allan Chisholm has arrived abroad safe and well. COSY THEATRE TWO BIG FEATURES. There will be two big features at the Cosy Theatre tomorrow night — “Ellery Queen and the Murder Ring” (a thrilling drama), starring Ralph Bellamy and Margaret Lindsay, and “The Blonde from Singapore” (a story of adventure), in which Florence Rice and Leif Erikson are starred in the chief roles.
