RONGOKOKAKO
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women’s Institute Mrs W. J. O'Neil presided. Mrs H. J. Winter was appointed delegate to attend the conference which is to be held in Gisborne on July 28 and 29. Mrs Morriss Senr., was accorded a vote of thanks for having made a donation to the Institute funds. The skill test was won by Mrs J. Payne. Mrs F. H. Schormann, Kaiparoro, gave a very interesting demonstration and talk on how to exhibit flowers to the best advantage. The competitions for the month resulted as follows:—Carrots: Mrs S. Smith, 1; Mrs H. J. Winter, 2; Mrs K. Falkner, 3. Blackberry jelly: Mrs Baucke, 1; Mrs J. Payne, 2; Miss
Ursula Payne, 3. Large flower: Mrs Walker, 1; Mrs J. Payne, 2; Mrs Morriss Senr., 3. Small flower: Mrs H. J. Winter, 1; Mrs J. Payne; 2; Mrs Walker and Mrs Baucke (equal), 3. The judges of the competitions, Mrs Schormann and Mrs Baucke, were thanked by Mrs O’Neil. Mrs Morriss Senr. and Miss McPhee, the hostesses, served afternoon tea.
