Inspection of Dairy Herds. A decision to ask the Government to tighten up inspection of all dairy herds in the Dominion was made by the Dominion Council of the Plunket Society in Christchurch on Saturday. Members also decided to ask the Government to make compulsory tubercular testing of dairy herds, diseased animals to be destroyed immediately and adequate compensation paid to the owners. The Government is also to be asked to introduce immediately measures to improve the standard of cleanliness of milk coming from farms and to enforce the existing regulations governing the sale of pasteurised milk.
