AIR TRANSPORT
NEED FOR POST=WAR PLANS LORD ROTHERMERE ASSAILS MINISTRY. AGREEMENT WITH DOMINIONS URGED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, April 15. “The idea that during the war we must prepare for peace has not penetrated the Air Ministry,” said Lord Rcthermere in the House of Lords. Post-war air transport, he added, should be an essential part of any international arrangements for the future of the world. The Government should approach the Dominions, with whom arrangements should be made as soon as possible concerning the part the Empire as a whole was going to play. Once this was done, he said, it wouldbe easy to make arrangements with the United States, but any agreement with America would be impossible unless the Empire knew its policy. Unless the Empire reached- agreement, Britain might find that some of the Dominions had made their own arrangements, for which the British Government would be called to account.
