LANSDOWNE SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
JUNIOR RED CROSS WORK.
Mr A. V. Faulknor presided at the monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee last evening. There were also present: Messrs Mackay, Donovan, Dagg, Long, McGregor, Jarvis and the headmaster, Mr J. W. T. Jones.
Accounts amounting to £3 15s were passed for payment. The headmaster’s report showed that the scholars on the roll totalled 251, the attendance during the month being very good. Fifty swimming certificates had been distributed for the season. Several of the pupils had also qualified for life saving certificates and medallions. The work of the Junior Red Cross circles had commenced,_ 157 pupils having paid their subscriptions. During the month Mrs Berney had entertained the members of the Young Helpers’ League, and the children appreciate the interest taken in the work by both Dr. and Mrs Berney. ■
