GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS G. F. KNAPP. Mr and Mrs G. F. Knapp, of Perry Street, Masterton, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary today. Both Mr Knapp, who is 78 years of age and Mrs Knapp who is 76, are hale and hearty. They were the recipients of nany expressions of good wishes and congratulations. They were married 50 years ago today at the registry office at Featherston. Mr Knapp, who was born at Grey town on January 1, 1865, was engaged in farming for a number of years at Morison’s Bush, until he retired twenty-two years ago. For the past 19 years he has been and still is verger at St. Matthew’s Church. Mrs Knapp, who was the fourth daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. W. Gooding, formerly of Western Lake, was born at Featherston.
Mr and Mrs Knapp have two daughters, Mesdames J. A. Welch, Te Ore Ore ,and Mrs J. G. McKinley, and two sons, L.A.C. Edward W. Knapp, R.N.Z.A.F., and Mr Joseph F. Knapp, of Auckland.
