WELFARE LEAGUE
MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held in the Ladies’ Rest Room, Dixon Street, Masterton, yesterday. Those present were: Miss Kummer (in the chair), Mesdames S. Fletcher, S. J. Munn, A. W. McKenzie, E. J. Brown, F. Daniell, R. Whyborn and S. N. Kilgour. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames T. Jordan, R. C. Drummond, S. L. P. Free, L. Hunter, H. E. Pither, A. Carruthers and Misses Vallance and Guild. Mrs A. W. McKenzie reported on social welfare work, there being no cases in March. Miss Kummer reported on visits paid to the Public Hospital during March. The visitors for April 13th will be Mesdames E. J. Brown and Miss Kummer. It was reported by Mrs Carruthers that a hamper would be sent to the A.N.A. Club on April 20. Donations could be left at Mr Ninnes’s shop. Mrs Whyborn said that she had visited the club while in Wellington recently and that a supply of vegetables would be very acceptable. The provision of a wreath for Anzac Day was left to Mrs Kilgour to attend to. It was decided that the annual meeting be held on May 7.
