FOUR=FOOTED HOARDER

RATION COUPONS DISAPPEAR. PEMBROKE, Ontario. Four-footed hoarders of ration coupons are reported from Westmeath, near here. The priprietor of a grocery and meat shop,* with a gasoline pump as sideline, found a marked disparity each fortnight, between the number of gasoline coupons on hand • and the amount of gasoline sold. When sugar, tea and coffee coupons began to disappear from a compartment in his till, he instituted a search. Result was the discovery in a remote corner of the counter of a mouse’s nest, partly made up of 175 gasoline coupons, 385 sugar coupons and 424 tea-coffee coupons. All the coupons were in good condition, likewise a number of postage stamps and 5 dollars in bank notes. The proprietor of this store now keeps his coupons in tin containers.
