PATRIOTIC APPEAL REFUSAL TO SUBSCRIBE. (“Times-Age” Special.) 1 At a meeting of the committee of collectors for the National Appeal in 'he Greytown district area, Mr A. W. Horton presided. It was reported that the aggregate returns to date amounted to £6OO, which was considered satisfactory,. Several collectors reported that in a lumber of cases they had received point blank refusals to subscribe, and a motion that the names of those who had refused the collectors be published was narrowly defeated. The chairman said that he had had refusals during the past four years from some quarters to subscribe to the appeal. The next meeting of the committee was set down for April 1. All the collectors were added to the Citizens’ General Committee. Personal. The members of the Greytown Methodist Church paid a surprise visit to the residence of Mr and Mrs A. W ■ Saywell, when the guest of the evening was Aircraftman E. Saywell. The Rev. L. A. D. Hayman and. Mr A. Haigh expressed good wishes to Aircraftman Saywell on behalf of the congregation. The time was spent in music and games. Supper was served by the ladies.. TOWN HALL “BALL OF FIRE.” Tomorrow night’s programme will be headed by the brilliant comedy-drama, “Ball of Fire,” with Barbara Stanwyck and' Gary Cooper in the leading roles.
