FEATHERSTON
PATRIOTIC DANCE SUCCESSFUUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Patriotic dance held on Saturday night there was an excellent attendance.. The music was supplied by Mrs Ashton’s Orchestra, extras being played by Misses G. Fraser, C. Saba and Sergeant O. Savage. The supper tables were artistically decorated by l Mrs Alexander. Personal items. Mr and Mrs Raper are visiting Levin. A quiet wedding took place recently at St. Theresa’s Church, Featherston, when Vera Mary Power was married to Corporal Samuel Henry Dolan, R.N.Z.A.F., Hamilton. Miss A. Power (Wellington) and Mrs V. D. Smith (Blenheim) have returned home after having been the guests of their sister, Mrs W. S. Lynskey. League of Mothers. The Featherston branch of the League of Mothers have been very fortunate in that they have had a vist from every Dominion President, beginning with the founder of the League, Lady Alice Fergusson, then Lady Elliot,, Mrs C. G. White (Wellington), and Mrs English (Auckland), and on Friday by the newly-elected president, Mrs L. Wall, Wellington. COSY THEATRE t “BALL OF FIRE.” The brilliant comedy-drama, “Ball of Fire,” will be shown on Wednesday night with Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck in the chief roles.
