GREYTOWN
PAPA WAI MAORIS EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” ’.Special.) There was a splendid attendance at the Greytown Town Hall last night when the Papawai Tribal Committee held a euchre party and dance. The euchre prizes were won as follows: — Ladies, Miss Kani 1, Mrs Mellish 2. Men: S. Ngairo 1, N. Burt 2. Travelling prizes, Mrs C. Matthews and N. Burt. Consolation, Mrs Hood and A. Kini. A competition was won by Mrs Turei. A bag of flour was sold and realised £2 10s. Fire Brigade Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade it was decided that Station Officer G. Gray represent the brigade at the conference to be held in Wellington on March 31. Supt. J. Wood will also attend the conference at which he will receive a gold star for 25 years’ service. Donations were received from Miss L. Feast and Mr G. Eagar, 10s Gd each. Boy Scouts. At the weekly parade of the Boy Scouts, four more Tenderfoots joined up—L. Barker, B. Scrimegour, I. Lyster, and R. Buckman. TOWN HALL “FOUR MOTHERS.” The Lane Sisters, Jeffrey Lynn and Gale Page, appear in “Four Sisters,” the brilliant drama which will be shown tonight.
