VISIT TO ANKARA
MADE BY AIR COMMANDER IN MIDDLE EAST. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) RUGBY, March 17. Air Chief Marshal Sir William Sholto Douglas, Air Officer Commanding in the Middle East, was yesterday received by President Inonu, being introduced by Marshal Calmak. the Turkish Chief of Staff. The British Ambassador, Sir Hugh Knatchbull-Hugessen, was also present. Sir William Douglas was' also received by the Turkish Premier, Mr Saracoglu, before returning to Caior from Ankara.
