DEATH OF WOMAN TAXI-DRIVER ■ ■. ti YOUTH ARRESTED liN SOUTH CANTERBURY. BROUGHT BEFORE JUSTICES IN ASHBURTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day. Arrested late yesterday afternoon while skating at a rink, John Hector McAuley, aged 17 years and nine months, a labourer of Tinwald,. is charged with the murder of Mrs Wilhelmina Webster, aged 36, a taxi driver who disappeared on Monday night. Mrs Webster’s body was found yesterday afternoon in a disused septic tank on a section where accused lived, in the township of Tinwald. Indications are that a fire was lighted in brush placed over the body about midday, and at about 3 o’clock, a neighbour, fearing danger of fire, investigated. McCauley appeared before justices this morning and was remaonded to appear at Christchurch on March 25.
