PATRIOTIC DANCE ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Tinies-Age” Special.) The dance held in the Town Hall on Saturday night was well attended. The music was supplied by Mrs; V. Ashton’s Orchestra. Extras were played by Missrs C. Saba, N. Tocker, and M. Tocker. Mr Ashton was M.C. The hall was artistically decorated by Mrs Alexander. The Junior Patriotic Com-j mittee supervised the supper arrangements. Personal Items. Miss Jocelyn Dawson, of Wellington, was the guest of Mrs Clapshaw over the weekend. Mrs W. Fuge, Senr., is visiting Auckland. Miss K. Ruane is spending a holiday in Wanganui. Mr Trevor Buck, of the local Post Office staff, has been transferred to Wellington. Borough Council Matters. At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Borough Council vouchers were received from the Treasury for £37 10s upkeep of soldiers’ graves, £5 water and drainage to courthouse and £l4 4s Id water and drainage to seven railway cottages. It was resolved that owing to the fractious nature of the horse owned by the borough, it be loaned out for a period and one belonging to Mr G. A. Farrier be used in its stead. COSY THEATRE “SHINING VICTORY.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by the brilliant drama, “Shining Victory,” part of the proceeds from which will go to patriotic purposes. The leading roles are taken by James Stephenson, Donald Crisp and Geraldine Fitzgerald.
