MAURICEVILLE
ENJOYABLE DANCE PRESENTATION MADE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the Mauriceville East Hall last night when residents of the district gathered to honour Private 'Eila Bennett, of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. A mixture of modern and old time dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr Jack Barnes’s orchestra. Extras were played by Miss J. Grant and others and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr J. A. Baine. In making a presentation to the guest of. honour, Mr J. H. McDonald said that Private Bennett was the first girl in that district to enter’ the Army. He said that during her stay ■in the district she had proved a very popular young lady. Private Bennett suitably acknowledged the presentation. A home-made supper which was much appreciated was served by the Mauriceville East ladies’ committee.
