WOMEN’S INSTITUTE OFFICERS FOR ENSUING YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The March monthly meeting of the Nireaha Women’s Institute was well attended. Mrs Terry, president, welcomed all present. Mesdames Terry and Golder were elected delegates to the Bush Federation meeting in April. The sum of £1 Ils was received from the auctioning of produce, and this amount will go towards purchasing soldiers’ parcels. The election of officers for the coming year resulted as follows: —President, Mrs Terry (re-elected); vice-pre-sidents, Mesdames Golder and Hawkins; secretary, Mrs" George Shannon; committee, Mesdames Wilkin, Petersen, J. Drysdale, O’Neil, W. Drysdale, Adams and Hansen. The retiring officers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Winners of the month’s competitions were as follow: —Bed socks (to be sent to the Red Cross Society), Mrs Wilkin 1, Mrs Petersen 2, Mrs Hawkins 3; Jewish cake, Mrs J. Drysdale 1, Mrs Wilkin 2, Mrs Terry 3; best vegetable, Mesdames W. Drysdale and Hawkins 1, Mesdames Terry and Wilkin 2; large bloom, Mrs J. Drysdale 1, Mrs W. Drysdale and Mrs Golder 2; small bloom, Mrs Golder 1, Mrs W. Drysdale 2, Mrs J. Drysdale 3. The competitions for the April meeting will be: Best vegetable and bloom, prettiest apron made of flour bag, white walnut loaf, three roots of potatoes. The hostesses were Mesdames Shannon and Thomasen.
