OBITUARY
MR THOMAS ARDEN WILLIS.
The friends of Mr Thomas Arden Willis, of 38 Bentley Street, Masterton, will regret to hear df his death which occurred suddenly at Stronvar yesterday. The late Mr Willis, who was 65i years of age, was born at Durham, England. He came to New Zealand with his parents in the. sailing boat “Lady Jocelyn” sixty years ago, and spent the early years of his life in Featherston. Since then he had been engaged in farming in the Masterton district and at the time of his death was assisting in dipping on the property of Mr H. J. Nitz, Stronvar. He was of a retiring disposition and his sudden death will oome as a shock to those who knew him. He is survived by a Widow, two daughters and one son—Mrs C. Ross, Miss-Esther Willis and Mr Erie Willis —and by seven grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomor-’ row, leaving the late residence, following a service at 3 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
