YOUNG FARMERS

MASTERTON CLUB. NINTH ANNUAL REPORT. The ninth annual report of the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club states that the club has experienced another very successful year. “I would like,” states the chairman, Mr W. Cooper, “to pay a tribute to the work of the present executive. Their full co-operation at all times with both the secretary and myself has been highly satisfactory. The club completes its ninth year with 50 members, of which 11 are in overseas camps, 28 in the Home Guard, and several have returned from overseas. All members are financial. Owing to earthquake damage, there were only six meetings held during die year, and the attendance was below usual. The club wishes to thank the following for addresses, etc., given at meetings:— Messrs W. H. Saunders. S. Freeman, L. T. Daniell, J. Robertson, M.P., W. Cooper, W. D. Buick, A. James, O. Rayner, McNeilage, P. White, A. Cave, J. Rayner, W. Morrison and D. French. Thanks are due to Mrs W. James and the ladies’ committee for the very capable manner in which they carried out their duties in connection with the supper arrangements at the dances during the year. The club tenders its thanks to Mrs James and Mrs Blatchford for the donation of a large birthday cake. I extend deep appreciation to our adviser and president, Mr N. Blatchford, and to Mr N. Lamont, who has taken such a keen interest in us during the year. We also wish to thank our auditor, Mr Williams, and the Masterton A. [and P. Association for the use of their rooms during the year.”
