GANDHI’S GRATITUDE

ON BREAKING HIS FAST ■— fl NEW EFFORTS TO END DEADLOCK. MR RAJAGOPALACHARI’S VIEWS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) POONA, March 3. After breaking his fast, Mr Gandhi said he was most thankful to his doctors, “for serving me so well, but I feel that there must be something higher than the power of doctors which saved me.” Mi’ Rajagopalachari, interviewed,' hinted at a new attempt to break the political deadlock in India. He said it was necessary that those who met in Delhi recently should again meet and think furiously. “I can say nothing definite,” he added, “but I seem to be gradually recovering hope. I must meet my friends and think out some plan. There is much cause for bitterness and anger as a result of Mr Gandhi’s fast, but we should check these feelings and devise ways and means of overcoming the Government's obdurance and the apathy of those whose co-operation we want.”
