IN CANADIAN INCOME TAX PAY AS YOU GO SYSTEM. BIGGER LOANS THAN EVER IN PROSPECT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) OTTAWA, March 3. For the first time since the war began, income tax rates are not increased in the Canadian Budget. In consequence-of the adoption of a pay as you go system, the correct assessment will be determined at the end of the year, with a prompt refund of overpayment. Members of the Armed Forces overseas will be exempt from income tax. Officers serving in Canada will pay half the income tax rate. Excise rates have been increased on spirits, tobacco, postage and entertainment. The Finance Minister (Mr J. L. Ilsley) announced that the Government planned to raise bigger war loans than ever before.
