RAIDS FROM MALTA
OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN ITALY AERODROMES & RAILWAY INSTALLATIONS SUFFER. ENEMY PLANES PROBABLY DAMAGED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, February 26. R.A.F. headquarters at Malta, am nounced that yesterday our fighterbombers raided Sicily twice. Bursts were seen close to aircraft on the Commisio aerodrome. Last night, night intruders were over Sicily and Southern Italy. Trains were attacked and a railway junction and railway bridge bombed. A direct hit was made on a train engine. Railway buildings and rolling stock were shot up. An aerodrome in Sicily was raked with cannonfire as aircraft were landing.
