BOWLING CHAMPION RINK MATCHES (“Times-Age” Special.) The first round of the champion rinks competotion was played on Saturday. Games resulted as follows: — E. Maddison, J. Thompson, G. Brunton, F. Dennes beat J. Reid, H. McPhee, T. Connolly, H. Carter; R. Pickard, H. Cate, F. Dewhurst, A. Thompson beat E. Skeet, H. Nightingale, G. Burns, N. McLeod; J. Burden, J. Stringfellow, H. Wallace, W. Higgosn beat H. W. Feast, A. Peterson, S. Shedden, P. Kenning; H. R. Feast, G. Duff, F. Bunny, R. Thompson beat S. Brice, J. Coleman, J. Kiernan, F. Harrington. Champion singles: Further games played resulted .as follows: T. Connolly beat J. F. Thompson and also H. Johns; N. McLeod beat H. W. Feast; J. Reid beat H. McPhee. In a progressive pairs game G. Brunton won the skips section and F. Dewhirst the leads. J. Reid and J. Burden divided the consolation prize. Women’s Division Meeting. The Greytown branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union will hold their first meeting of the year in the Parish Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs K. Groves (Wairarapa Provincial President) will be the speaker. A competition for the best blooms of gladioli and dahlia will be held. Personal Items. Mrs Hosking, of Paekakariki, was a visitor to Greytown over the weekend. Lieut. Harrison was the guest of Mr W. H. Day during the weekend. Miss D. Richards has returned from Christchurch. Soldiers home on weekend leave were: A. Carter, I. Keltie, T. O’Brien, F. McCarthy. TOWN HALL “NO GREATER SIN.” Tomorrow night’s pogramme will be headed by the brilliant social drama, “No Greater Sin.” The leading players in the picture are Luana Waters, Leon Ames, Guy Usher, Bodil Rosing and John Gallandel.
