STOCK MARKET
HAUTOTARA EWE FAIR. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., and Murray, Roberta and Co., Ltd., in conjunction, held their eighth annual ewe fail’ yesterday, at Hautotara, there being a fair representation of buyers. The bulk of the ewes came forward in very good order, considering the dry local conditions. There were yarded 3840 sheep, of which approximately 3000 were disposed of to local and West Coast buyers. Prices realised were as follow:— 5-year ewes, a/c. A. D. Hathaway, 16s 4d: a/c G T. F. Hutton Estate, 16s Id; a/c. Estate S. D. McDougall, 19s: a/c. G. W. B. Hardy, 13s 9d; a/c. Robert McLeod, 17s Gd; a/c Murdoch McLeod, 16s. 4 and 5-year ewes: A/c. J. W. Spiers. 14s. 4-year ewes: A/c. Murdoch McLeod, 26s Id; a/c. J. McDonald and Son, 21s 6d; a/c. G W. B. Hardy, 19s. Maiden 4-tooth ewes: A/c. A. D. Hathaway, 245: a/c. State Advances Corporation, 25s to 21s 6d. 2-tooth ewes: A/c. P Chapman, 235: a/c. Estate John McLeod, 30s to 28s M.S, lambs. 15s 7d: wethers, 30s.
