ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE. (“Times-Age” Special.) P.G. Bro. J. A. T. Stevens, N.G., presided over the quarterly meeting of the Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge of Odd Fellows last evening. A vote of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Bro. John Bond. Sick pay amounting to £ll 10s was ordered to be paid. The business paper for the annual conference of the Wellington District Odd Fellows to be held at Loyal Britannia Lodge Room on Saturday, March 6, was discussed, after which P.D.G.M. Bro. C. J. DeLacey was elected to represent the lodge at the meeting. The annual balance sheet was read and adopted, showing the following liabilities and assets:—Balance to S. and F. Fund, £7281 9s lid; Management Fund, £27 Os 4d; Medical Fund, £153 9s 8d; Distress Fund, £297 Os 7d; Surplus Fund, £791 10s sd; Social Fund, £2B 11s 4d; Assets, mortgage of Freehold property, Government securities etc., £8135 13s lid; Bank, £434 9s 4d. Beautiful Flowers. On view in Mr E. H. Hawke’s shop window is a beautiful Philennese lily. There are nine flowers on the stems. It was grown by Mrs Scadden. personal Items. A very painful accident was suffered by Mrs A. Jensen, of Belvedere Road, Carterton, yesterday. With others she was returning in a motor vehicle from Greytown. Mrs Jensen got out of the back of the car to ride in the front seat. In doing so she placed her hand on the car door which was suddenly 1 closed, with the result that one of the fingers of her left hand was severed. She was taken to the Greytown Hospital for treatment and will remain there for a few days. Mr C. H. Barber has returned to Carterton after having spent a holiday at Paraparaumu. Mr and Mrs R. E. Barrett and Gunner T. E. Lye and Mrs Lye have returned to Island Bay after having been the guests of Mr and Mrs R. S. Bar- , rett, Carterton. This morning at his residence, Bro. S. J. King, a member of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge of Odd Fellows, was presented with a leather writing com- , panion. In making the presentation, ' Bro. C. J. DeLacey wished Bro. King good luck and a safe return to his home town. He also extended best wishes from his fellow members. Bro. ’King suitably returned his thanks. I Mrs J. Sewell, Junr.. has been advisl ed that her husband, L.A.C. Sewell, is ' now attached to the R.A.F. REGENT THEATRE “JOAN OF PARIS.” The great French dramatic actress, Michele Morgan, will be seen tonight in the outstanding drama, “Joan of Paris,” a story of German-ridden France. Also in the cast is William Mitchell.
