WEDDING

BODDINGTON—MATTHEWS. Pink and blue hydrangeas provided an artistic setting at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gisborne, last Thursday afternoon when Eleanor Eileen ,second daughter of Mrs Matthews and the late Mr C. Matthews, of “Alyth,” Mangapapa, was married to Sergeant Huia Duncan Boddington, only son of Mr and' Mrs H. M. Boddington, Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Right Rev. John Davie, formerly of Masterton, and Mr I. Moore presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her eldest brother, Mr C. E. Matthews, wore an exquisite frock of deep ivory satin and Viennese lace. The bodice was designed with long sleeves and a Peter Pan collar of lace and lace also formed a bolero effect. Graduated panels of lace ornamented the flowing skirt, which swept into an oval train. The bride wore a veil of ivory embroidered tulle caught w’ith a halo of orange blossom, and her lovely shower bouquet was of cream begonias and lilies. A picture frock of powder blue taffetas was the choice of the bridesmaid, Miss Jean Campbell, cousin of the bride, who wore real pink and blue flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of roses and delphiniums. The small attendants were Beverley Bartram and John Kinder, niece and nephew of the bride. The little girl looked attractive in a frilled frock of powder blue taffetas, and a Lord Fauntleroy suit of ivory satin was worn by the small page. Pilot-Officer Eric Preston was best man. After the ceremony relatives were entertained at a reception at the home of the bride’s mother. Mrs Matthews, mother of the bride, was wearing a frock of black and white figured French crepe with a black straw hat finished with a matching veil. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and roses. Mrs Boddington, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of fuschiacoloured wool georgette with a hat to tone and carried a bouquet of shaded asters.

The bride travelled in a smart twopiece suit of navy blue wool georgette corded in white, and a straw hat to match.
